Additional Announcements:

NO BURNING IN STREETS:

Please refrain from burning leaves and brush in the street. It is dangerous and bad for our newly upgraded City streets.

NOTARY SERVICE AVAILABLE:

Complimentary Notary Service is available during normal office hours.  No appointment necessary.  Photo I.D. is required.  PLEASE DO NOT SIGN YOUR DOCUMENT UNTIL YOU APPEAR IN PERSON BEFORE THE NOTARY!

WATER / SEWER BILL PAYMENT INFO:

Payments can be made anytime on your water/sewer bill.  You do not have to wait for your quarterly water bill.

TELL THE SHERIFF:

A phone number and email have been set up to pass along information from concerned citizens or to ask the sheriff questions.  Please do not use the phone number or email for emergencies.  They are not for crimes in progress but rather an information network.  Click here for contact information.

CITY DUMP OPEN:

The City dump is open for YARD WASTE ONLY for City residents only.  Please note the dump is being monitored by camera.  The dump area is located behind the Sheriff Department substation at the corner of Railroad and Wood Streets.

BLIGHT:

Please be aware that the Blight Ordinance will be enforced in the City of Petersburg. If you receive notice that you are in violation of the Blight Ordinance, and the situation is not remedied, or a hearing has not been requested (in writing) within 10 days, the blighting condition may be remedied by the City, and the cost assessed against the property. The full ordinance can be read by clicking HERE.  To report a blight issue, please download the compaint form by clicking HERE, and submit the completed form to the City Office.

BURNING:

The City of Petersburg asks that you please refrain from burning leaves within the city during 11:30-3:00 on school days especially if you live near the school.  The smoke has become a problem for some of our children. We appreciate your cooperation; thank you for keeping our children safe and happy!

If you must burn, do not burn in the street-it damages the asphalt (City ordinance).
